Does CareSource Cover Drug & Alcohol Rehab?
Quick answer: CareSource plans cover medically necessary substance use disorder treatment, but where you can use that coverage depends on your specific plan. In Florida, CareSource administers the TRICARE Prime Demo for eligible military families in the Tampa Bay area. Oasis Recovery Center in Fort Myers, and our admissions team can check other CareSource plans for you.
CareSource TRICARE Prime Demo: Rehab for Military Families
Starting January 1, 2026, eligible active-duty family members, retirees, and their families in the Tampa Bay area can enroll in the TRICARE Prime Demo, administered by CareSource Military & Veterans. Enrollees get care through CSMV’s network of providers, generally without referrals for in-network specialty care.
For military families, substance use can be complicated by deployments, relocations, service-related trauma, and the pressure to keep things private. At Oasis Recovery, military family members receive confidential, evidence-based care in a calm setting just a couple of hours south of Tampa.

What CareSource May Cover
When your plan covers treatment at Oasis Recovery, benefits may include:
- Medical detoxification with 24/7 monitoring
- Residential treatment with structured daily therapy

Higher levels of care usually require prior authorization. Our team handles that process with your plan.
If You Have CareSource Coverage Outside Florida
If your CareSource plan is from another state, here’s what to know:
- Call CareSource member services (the number is on your card) and ask whether out-of-state residential or outpatient addiction treatment is covered.
- Ask about single-case agreements. In some situations, plans approve out-of-network care when no in-network option can meet a member’s needs.
- Consider other ways to pay. If your plan won’t cover treatment in Florida, our team can talk through self-pay options.
- Look for in-network care near home. If traveling isn’t an option, your plan can help you find covered providers in your state.

No. CareSource does not currently offer Florida Medicaid. In Florida, CareSource administers the TRICARE Prime Demo for eligible military families in the Tampa Bay area.
Medicaid is state-specific, so out-of-state Medicaid usually covers only emergency care in another state. Call your plan to confirm.
Enrollees generally don't need referrals to see in-network specialists. Our team will confirm authorization requirements for addiction treatment.
